About Dear Green Coffee Roasters

Dear Green Coffee Roasters are a Speciality Coffee Roaster based in Central Glasgow.

Committed to sourcing raw coffee which is not only of the highest quality on the market but is fully traceable to origin and from sustainable coffee producing communities. Carefully selected and freshly roasted, Dear Green supply coffee via our online shop as well as to restaurants, bars, cafes and delis locally and nationally.

Dear Green is named after the precious traded raw green coffee bean but is also a nod to the city of it's conception; Glasgow which in it's Gaelic translation is 'Dear Green Place'. Bringing the passion and skill of small batch coffee roasting back to Glasgow from Australia, Dear Green was established in 2011 with a commitment to encouraging growth in a fledgling speciality coffee culture in Scotland.

Dear Green are a member of the SCAE and are aligned with other quality focused speciality coffee roasters around the globe. All raw coffees are imported to the UK via coffee traders who have rigid social responsibility practices ensuring an ethical product. The coffee is roasted on a prized Probat coffee roaster at the Dear Green Coffee Roastery.

Dear Green believe in retaining all of the natural characteristics of the coffee origin or farm by recording time and temperature to create profiles for each coffee bean. Like wine vintages, coffee can differ in flavour from season to season as such the product portfolio changes regularly to also reflect availability.

We also offer advanced training sessions for a fee.

Training can be offered onsite or at our Glasgow based training centre. Please contact us for details at training@deargreencofee.com.

For espresso, we recommend that you have at least one weeks advanced stock, this allows the beans to rest/de-gas and gives a smoother espresso extraction. It also means you'll never run out if you have a busy week!

No yet! Until we can find cocoa and sugar which are as traceable and as ethically sourced as our coffee we will only specialise in coffee products.

Do you sell cups?
Not ceramic cups but we do recommend brands and suppliers, get in touch if you want our suggestions. We always suggest sizing to be 4/6/8oz for the best favour ratio of espresso to milk. We can supply you with Dear Green takeaway cups and lids, please get in touch to order these.

How is best to store coffee?
At room temperature in an air tight vessel (our re-sealable bags are perfect). NOT in the fridge as this encourages condensation and staling.
