Kenya Jokambu AB- Washed
Blackberry, Honey, Sweetness
Kenya’s best coffees are grown in the Central Highlands on the southern slopes of Mt. Kenya to the north and in the foothills of the Aberdare Mountains to the west. Here the coffee is grown on farms with altitudes of up to 1,800 metres above sea level - and this, along with the fertile volcanic soils of the region, is the key to the almost unbelievable flavours that can be found within the cup.
This juicy, complex coffee is from the Jokambu factory, the washing station is located in the foothills of Mount Kenya in the countries "golden triangle" where the very best coffees grow. Here, the coffee cherries from the SL28 and SL34 variety trees get plenty shade to ripen. Surrounded by fruit trees and trees indigenous to the area, the cherries ripen and are harvested between November and February. The high altitude and rich volcanic soils both contribute to this coffees flavour.
