The Best Glasgow Southside Street Festival: Bungo in the Back Lanes

A true community event and the highlight in our summer calendar, we were back at Bungo In The Back Lanes for another coffee-fuelled Summer Solstice.

The ultimate celebration of Glasgow community spirit, Bungo in the Back Lanes is an annual event in the historic neighborhood of Strathbungo where lanes and gardens are completely transformed into the best summer street party in Glasgow.

Organised by the dedicated volunteers at The Strathbungo Society, this beloved local festival has been bringing neighbours together since 2000 and we've been caffeinating the event with specialty coffee since 2016. It turns everyday back lanes, gardens, and garages into a bustling festival of live music, makers' markets, bric-a-brac, and food stalls.

At Dear Green Coffee Roasters, community is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we pack up our brewing kit, beans we're excited to share and our reusable cups, and set up our pop-up coffee shop in the lanes every year!

Capturing the Glasgow Community Spirit

If you caught our latest Instagram Reel from the festival, you got a quick glimpse of the incredible energy of the event. The camera can’t fully capture the warmth (it was sunny!), kindness and connection that this Glasgow Southside crowd brings.

We served our delicious Espresso Tonic and launched our latest coffee, the time-appropriate 'Summer Solstice', a vibrant, fruit-forward coffee from tree-dried natural coffee cherries producedby the B Corp coffee farm, Daterra in Cerrado, Brazil.

Brewing specialty coffee at Bungo in the Back Lanes is a fun-filled experience and a great way for our team to connect with the vibrant Glasgow community.

Thank You, Strathbungo!

To everyone who stopped by our regular spot in the Marywood/Vennard Lane to grab a hot or cold brew, buy a bag of locally roasted coffee beans, or just say a friendly hello - thank you. Specialty coffee is always at its best when it brings people together.
