Dear Green began in Glasgow in 2011, with just one woman, one trusty roaster and a mission to bring seriously delicious, specialty-grade coffee to Scotland.
Named after the Scots Gaelic for Glasgow, Dear Green Place, we wanted to make sure our coffee - as well as everything else we did - came from a good place, too.
The business has grown a lot since we were a one-woman roasting machine. We’re now an award-winning B Corp with a vibrant roastery, a bunch of coffee pro’s and a showroom and training space in Glasgow.
But we’ve always stayed true to our values.
Sourcing responsibly, advocating for industry change, working with community and prioritising sustainability.
Because for everyone who works at Dear Green, coffee isn’t just coffee - it's a passion and a way of life.
Roast. Our ethically sourced, specialty-grade coffee beans are roasted freshly, daily.
Supply. If you run a cafe, an office, a workplace, a home, or anywhere or you just can’t face the day without a Dear Green coffee, we’ll deliver to you.
Educate. We regularly run classes, experiences, and SCA-accredited training, and we happily share our coffee knowledge and our depth of industry experience with anyone curious about coffee.
Equip: Want to sell our coffee? Get all the kit from us - we’ll also arrange installation and regular servicing of it.
Share: We organise and create events to support our local coffee community and donate 2% of all we do to causes that support social and climate justice.
We just really, really love coffee.
Everyone who works for Dear Green is (B Corp certifiably) obsessed with it. We roast it, pack it and drink gallons of it, and we want to share our love and knowledge with you.
We’re also obsessed with where it comes from.
We only work with carefully selected import partners and producers who we know and trust. That means there’s transparency, traceability and sustainability in every roast.
Did we mention we’re a B Corp?
We’ve been certified since 2020 and every day, we work to be the most sustainable roastery we can be. We’ve pledged to be a Net Zero business by 2030 - find out more in our Impact section.
We share our profits with the community.
We’re not just a member of 1% For The Planet, we also commit a further 1% of our annual turnover to social justice organisations.
And we help build community, too.
From establishing the Glasgow Coffee Festival in 2014, kickstarting the UK Roasting championships, to becoming a Living Wage/Hours/Pension Foundationemployer and creating the first women in coffee event in Scotland, Dear Green never stops advocating for a stronger, fairer and kinder coffee community.
