Meet The Team - Soren

Meet the latest member of team, Soren! As Roastery Assistant, Soren ensures that our coffee gets where it needs to be, covering everything from processing online orders, to packing, to dispatching.

What’s your name, and where are you from?

My name’s Soren—I’m from Bristol. The part where your neighbour’s got a fox as a pet and swears it's just a “very free-range dog.”

What does a day at Dear Green look like for you?

Starts with a coffee and a spreadsheet. Then I’m out here scoopin’, packin’, blendin’ beans.

What's your favourite way to brew?

I’m all about that pour-over. Just slow, steady—no rush. It's a moment, you’re taking your time with it.

Your favourite Dear Green coffee?

Oh, easy—Dear Green's Peru Montana. It’s smooth, like a good handshake. You know, no weird vibes. It just gets right to the point, but still leaves you feeling good.

What do you like most about working for a B Corporation?

I love it. It’s like working for a company with a soul. You’re not just slinging coffee—you’re part of something bigger. Like… making the world a little better, one cup at a time. Coming from a material science background working to replace microplastic you get to see first hand how commitment to the environment is needed.

Aside from coffee, what are your passions?

I love taking photos. There’s something about catching a moment before it disappears. Chasing the light like it owes me money, and creating new images is always peaceful, kinda like telling stories without talking. And for someone like me, that’s rare.

If you could have coffee with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

Abbas Kiarostami. If I had the chance to share a coffee with him, I’d want to talk about the beauty of simplicity—how he could capture a moment so quietly, yet make it so profound.

What’s your favourite thing about speciality coffee?

It’s that whole journey—from the farmer’s hands to your trembling barista fingers after having too much coffee. Ethical, beautiful, and just selfishly satisfying.

What tracks do you listen to for some seriously good vibes?

Bit of Habibi Funk. Makes you feel like you’re in a 70s film set in a Moroccan car wash. Pure groove. Zero stress. One hundred percent sandal-friendly.
