Veganuary is in full swing - and there's never been more (delicious) options out there for you plant-based foodies! In celebration of Veganuary, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite vegan-friendly finds here in Scotland. With Glasgow being hailed the Vegan capital of the UK, we really are spoiled for choice locally and have incentive enough to get around the country too! Take a look at our top recommendations!

Mayze, Glasgow

With locations in both Finnieston and Dennistoun, you’re never far from some delicious vegan bakes and a speciality brews, thanks to the Mayze crew! Check out this snap featuring their infamous 'sosig' rolls for a taste of what to expect! 

 

 

Ride Coffee House, Aberdeenshire

Locals and visitors alike celebrate this wonderful cafe for its cosy vibe and mouth-watering selection of freshly-made food and drinks. Why not get on your bike and add it to your 2023 ‘To-visit’ list?

 

 

Honeytrap Bakery, Glasgow

From freshly baked croissants and cinnamon buns to savoury treats like red lentil dahl pasties and falafel sausage rolls, you’re truly in for a treat at Honeytrap Bakery. Did we mention everything is 100% plant-based? RUN DON’T WALK to Skirving Street, Glasgow. Open Friday to Sunday. 

 

 

Cafe Strange Brew, Glasgow  

A Glasgow institution! We’re forever in awe of their culinary creations and love a good Strange Brew brunch. With plenty of plant-based options to choose from, you’re in for a treat!

 

 

The Wildcat, Highlands

Exploring the Highlands? You don’t want to miss this impressive spot on Fort Williams high street! Serving up speciality beans roasted by us and a show-stopping vegan menu, it’s the ultimate place to escape to after a day of adventuring. PLUS, they stock a selection of eco friendly and reusable lifestyle items - so why not have a browse? The eco credentials will win you over as much as their enviable vegan menu selection!

 


 

Riverhill Coffee Bar, Glasgow

Delicious espresso-based drinks are prepared on their La Marzocco Linea with the super sweet and chocolatey Yellow Bourbon, pulped natural coffee from Fazenda Pantano in Cerrado, Brazil. All paired with some iconic bakes of course - made on-site! The freshly baked vegan options are a-plenty and aren't just for January! You can pick up some beans to take home too.

 

 

Perk Coffee and Doughnuts, Inverness 

Not just ridiculously delicious doughnuts! Our pals at Perk are preparing some of the best flat whites in the north! Expertly extracting our Goosedubbs Blend on their La Marzocco Linea PB throughout the day, selling beans for you to take home and slinging some espresso martinis in the evening too! Did we mention the vegan doughnuts...

 

  

The 78 Bar and Kitchen, Glasgow

The 78’s been in the heart of Glasgow’s West End, in one form or another, since 2002. In addition to their delicious food and drinks offerings, the team at the 78 offer legendary pub quizzes, weekend DJs and weekly jazz sessions to keep the good vibes flowing! Glasgow vegan menu pioneers and going strong...

 

 

Five March + Morning Glory, Glasgow

All your brunch favourites from their beloved almond croissants to their hearty breakfast staples! Open from Friday to Monday on Great Western Road or all week long at the OG site on Elderslie street for delicious seasonal small plates and one of the coolest meal experiences in the city. 

 

 

Meadow Road, Glasgow

Yet to visit them for some seriously good home-baked treats? This is your sign! Head on down to their cosy Dumbarton Road bolthole this weekend. Be prepared to spend hours choosing from the longest Brownie menu ever after you've had your vegan square sausage - yes, it's a thing!

 

 

Mono & Stereo, Glasgow

Mono and Stereo - City centre institutions with legendary music and vegan-friendly status! Whether you’re fuelling up for an afternoon of new vinyl shopping at Mono, or catching some pre-gig eats at Stereo, you’ll be spoiled for choice at these locations.

A 100% plant-based Specialty Coffee House with tasty scran aplenty. Expect an array of vegan treats and funky beats!

 

Pasteis du Lisboa 

One of our favourite spots for a sweet treat here in Glasgow? It has to be Pasteis du Lisboa. We just can’t get enough of those Portuguese delights! The cherry on the cake? They also offer a fully vegan version! Run down walk!

 

Locavore

Whether you find yourself in Govanhill, Partick, Kirkintilloch or Edinburgh, the legends at Locavore will have you stocked with plenty of tasty vegan treats and fresh ingredients to choose from. 

 

Vera Artisan Bakery

Visting the Stirling area? It would be a crime to pass up on Vera Bakery (winner of Bakery of the Year 2022!). Stop by and put their delicious bakes to the test for yourself.
