Meet the Team - Áine - Roastery Assistant

What’s your name and where are you from?
My name is Áine (awn-ya) and I am from Basildon, Essex

What does a day at Dear Green look like for you?
I start the day with coffee and admin - no small part of which is trying to perfect my smiley face skills on all your thank you cards - before bouncing off to scoop, pack and blend coffee for the days orders.

What's your favourite way to brew?
My go-to is V60, which I share with my partner before work every day. You can be as flashy or simple as you like brewing on V60 once you have the basics down.

Your favourite Dear Green coffee?
Ethiopia - Rumudamo has been my number one since starting here, but sadly we have roasted the final batch. From the staples my favourites are Rwanda KCRS and Brazil Daterra Low Caf.

What do you like most about working for a B Corporation?
Feeling valued and supported, as well as working with people who hold themselves to a higher standard.

Aside from coffee, what are your passions?
I’m a huge dog nerd (I run a dog training business on the weekends), I like to draw, cook and take photos of stuff!

If you could have coffee with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
Kermit the Frog, he’s so chatty and down to earth.

What’s your favourite thing about speciality coffee?
The crazy range of flavours you can get out of coffees from different regions with different processes. I’m interested in some of the funkier and more elaborate processing techniques you see around now.

What tracks do you listen to for some seriously good vibes?
The Tourist remix of Pure Shores by All Saints
