Grounds for Recycling

  • 1 min read

From the 25th July- 13th August we are taking part in Grounds for Recycling! But what is 'Grounds for Recycling' and why are we taking part? Read on to find out.

In collaboration with the 2023 UCI World Cycling Championships being held in Glasgow this summer, Grounds for Recycling will see over 60 of Glasgow's most loved hospitality venues divert 100% of their used coffee grounds from food waste.

Instead, the grounds will be collected by e-cargo bike provider Urb-It, and taken to the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, where they'll be turned into compost to capture carbon, rehabilitate soil and support biodiversity.

So cycle over to a 'Grounds for Recycling' venue this summer, grab a cup
of coffee, safe in the knowledge that those coffee grounds are being turned into something better for the planet.

We're extremely excited to be taking part in such an incredible initiative, further building on our commitment to becoming a circular business as part of Circular Glasgow. Flipping our mindset to view waste a resource and breaking the cycle of one-time use.

Do you want to get involved? Visit www.groundsforrecycling.co.uk to find out more and to view all of the awesome businesses that are taking part!
