Roastery Assistant Vacancy


We look forward to welcoming a motivated, detail-oriented Roastery Assistant to join our production team. As a core member of our specialty coffee operation, you will be responsible for packing coffee, fulfilling orders, and ensuring exceptionally high standards of quality, consistency, and organisational efficiency. 

This isn’t a desk job. You’ll be on your feet, weighing and bagging fresh roasts, picking and packing wholesale and retail orders, prepping shipments, and keeping our production line moving smoothly to get great coffee to our customers on time.

We’re looking at you! You will:

  • Be able to slot into a fast-paced production environment

  • Be organised and able to prioritise tasks while maintaining attention to detail

  • Have a great work ethic and the ability to work efficiently to meet daily fulfillment deadlines

  • Be confident in the use of online interfaces to support ordering functions

  • Have excellent customer service skills

  • Have great communication skills and be an excellent team player

The role includes:

  • Packing coffee

  • Preparing and labelling coffee packaging

  • Picking orders, preparing for dispatch

  • Some administration duties

  • Assisting in stock management

  • Assisting with record keeping

  • Cleaning of roastery

  • Calibration of equipment

  • Maintaining roastery equipment 

  • Serving visitors who purchase directly from our roastery

  • Other general duties to support company activities

  • Support at external events

Reports to:Head of Coffee Operations

Location:Glasgow

Employment type:Full-time, 40hrs/week 

Salary: £27,976 – Real Living Wage

Dear Green is a multi award-winning, B Corp certified independent roastery. We supply businesses throughout the UK as well as directly to consumers. 

We are credited with pioneering a specialty coffee culture in Scotland and have brought the coffee community together through local and national industry events. We take coffee pretty seriously and travel to origin annually. We have an AST and Q Grader in our team. We are in our 14th year and have followed a journey of coffee excellence with environmental awareness and a community focus since we were founded in 2011.
