"Wake the Bishop" Kilmartin Castle Collab
Chocolate, Caramel, Apricot & Praline
DEAR GREEN X KILMARTIN CASTLE
The Kilmartin Castle Blend is back baby!
Wake that Bishop* once more! In celebration and anticipation of the reopening of Kilmartin Castle in 2021!
Kilmartin Castle Blend is:
60% Guatemalan from Guatemala Red De Mujeres. This variety is from the “Network of Women” a large group of 830 female coffee producers covering five different areas of Huehuetenango. This particular lot comes from the San Antonio Huista area. Within the entire community of women there are 8 different Mayan languages spoken, highlighting the diversity of culture and language in this area of Guatemala. Most of these women have been tragically widowed during the 36 years of civil war in Guatemala. Now with the help of ACODIHUE, these female producers now learn and practice organic farming methods and are untied to market their coffee and find international buyers.
40% Brazilian from Fazenda Pantano. A pulped natural variety of yellow bourbon cherries from the farming region located close to the city of Patos de Minas at an altitude of 1,150 meters. The region covers a total area of 600 hectares where more than 100 hectares of the land has been set-aside for permanent natural forest reserves that are protected by the local authorities. The yellow bourbon cherries are picked and pulped and then immediately dried on African style raised beds for air drying. This results in a cleaner cup than natural processed coffee, with brighter notes and a lighter body but with greater complexity.
